System Engineer L2
Wyetech is seeking an experienced System Engineer Level 2 to support the operation, maintenance, monitoring, integration, testing, and deployment of mission-critical systems. This position encompasses responsibilities that cross between two organizations and requires close collaboration with customers, Government personnel, and partner engineering teams.
The System Engineer will provide Tier 1 system support, run, maintain, and monitor operational systems, collaborate with a sister organization on system design and integration, support system acceptance and testing activities, and provide system deployment assistance. The successful candidate will also support requirements analysis, system architecture, technical documentation, integration, and implementation planning throughout the system lifecycle.
Required Skills/Experience:
Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer (SE) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Experience running, maintaining, and monitoring operational systems.
Experience providing Tier 1 system support.
Experience collaborating across organizations on system design and integration.
Experience supporting system acceptance, including testing and observing tests.
Experience providing system deployment assistance.
Experience analyzing user requirements, Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documents, and high-level system architectures.
Experience developing and managing system and derived requirements.
Experience with system architecture, design, integration, testing, and implementation.
Experience developing technical and systems engineering documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively with program personnel, Government stakeholders, technical teams, and senior leadership.
Linux experience is desired but not required. On-the-job Linux learning is expected.
Capabilities:
Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure production systems are compatible with defined architectures, including Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Contribute to systems engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
Assist with development of system and functional requirements and allocation to hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
Coordinate resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews requiring cross-discipline coordination.
Participate in Integrated Product Teams to design new capabilities based on development and operational considerations.
Allocate real-time process and error budgets to systems and subsystem components.
Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.
Define methods, processes, and evaluation criteria used to verify systems, subsystems, and work products against requirements.
Develop system design solutions that satisfy system requirements and functional analyses.
Review and provide input to program and contract Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), work packages, and Integrated Master Plans (IMP).
Participate in interface definition, design, and configuration changes throughout the system lifecycle.
Derive stakeholder needs and essential system functions from system requirements.
Derive detailed lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements and ensure requirements are complete, correct, unique, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiable.
Participate in establishing and gaining approval for system and component baselines, including requirements, designs, interfaces, and test procedures.
Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services, including confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, and availability.
Develop requirements for Information Assurance mechanisms and security technologies, including identification, authentication, access control, accountability, cryptography, hashing, and key management.
Implement comprehensive SOA solutions.
Implement operational, technical standards, system, and services architecture views using applicable DoDAF standards.
Review and/or approve systems engineering documentation to ensure processes and specifications are accurate, comprehensive, complete, and responsive to system needs.
Capture interface designs using common interface-control formats and maintain interface data in accessible repositories.
Assess program risks and determine probability of occurrence and quantified consequences in accordance with approved risk-management plans.
Plan verification efforts for new and unproven designs early in the development lifecycle.
Prepare timeline analysis diagrams illustrating the flow of time-dependent functions.
Establish formal processes to control and manage requirements changes, assess impacts, obtain stakeholder buy-in, maintain traceability, and resolve open actions.
Manage and maintain the technical integrity of the system baseline throughout development, deployment, operations, and maintenance.
Support planning and test analysis for the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process and other Government Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes.
Support development and review of Joint Capability Integration Development System (JCIDS) documentation, including Initial Capability Documents, Capabilities Description Documents, and IA Strategies.
Provide technical direction for development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software systems.
Perform requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, system requirements reviews, development of CONOPS and interface standards, system architecture development, and end-to-end flow analysis.
Develop operational scenarios or threads describing interactions among the system, user, and environment to satisfy operational, support, maintenance, and disposal requirements.
Conduct quantitative analysis of non-functional system performance areas, including Reliability, Maintainability, Vulnerability, Survivability, and Produceability.
Establish and follow formal procedures for coordinating system integration activities across multiple teams and ensuring complete interface coverage.
Qualifications:
Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position-appropriate security clearance is required.

Salary Range:
$45.61 - $119.86 USD Hourly
