Software Developer (Systems Software) – Lead
Wyetech is seeking a highly experienced Software Developer (Systems Software) – Lead to fill a high-visibility technical leadership position supporting the development of an integrated enterprise IT support model.
The Lead Software Developer will provide technical leadership and direct communication with the Sponsor while supporting efforts to drive efficiencies across the talent enterprise and better address strategic requirements associated with learning, training compliance, foreign language development and retention, job advertisements, selection, and performance.
This position requires a strong combination of technical leadership, Java development, AWS cloud technologies, ServiceNow, enterprise application modernization, UX/UI improvement, accreditation, and IT service management experience.
Required Skills/Experience:
• Demonstrated experience serving as a technical lead, providing technical expertise and communications directly to the Sponsor.
• Demonstrated experience implementing industry best practices and associated technical solutions consistent with accessibility standards and Agile methodology.
• Demonstrated experience developing recommendations that provide measurable business value while supporting organizational goals and objectives.
• Demonstrated experience improving User Experience/User Interface (UX/UI), reducing Operations & Maintenance (O&M), increasing quality and speed of delivery, and transforming and modernizing web-based applications, systems, and service components.
• Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining, analyzing, and documenting web-based applications, systems, service components, and associated interfaces, including integrations with databases and web services/APIs.
• Demonstrated experience with Java development.
• Demonstrated experience with cloud technologies.
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining AWS environments and service components, including associated interfaces, databases, and web services/APIs.
• Demonstrated experience working with Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products, including ServiceNow.
• Demonstrated experience supporting the full accreditation lifecycle.
• Demonstrated experience managing Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support using service management systems.
• Demonstrated experience developing comprehensive IT support documentation, including SOPs, digital IT workflows, IT knowledge bases, pre- and post-deployment checklists, IT architectural diagrams, system security plans, and administrative processes.
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining enterprise software, including license renewals where applicable, patching, and version-update administration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the technical lead for the team and provide technical expertise, recommendations, and communications to the Sponsor.
• Support development and implementation of an integrated enterprise IT support model designed to improve efficiencies across the talent environment.
• Support strategic requirements associated with learning, training compliance, foreign language development and retention, job advertisements, selection, and performance.
• Lead technical modernization efforts focused on improving UX/UI, reducing O&M requirements, increasing quality, and accelerating solution delivery.
• Develop, maintain, analyze, and document web-based applications, systems, services, and associated interfaces.
• Develop and maintain applications and enterprise solutions using Java.
• Develop, maintain, and support AWS cloud environments and service components.
• Support integrations involving databases, web services, and APIs.
• Support and maintain ServiceNow and other COTS products.
• Provide technical recommendations that balance mission requirements, business value, modernization objectives, and long-term maintainability.
• Support systems throughout the full accreditation lifecycle.
• Manage and coordinate Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 technical support activities using service management systems.
• Develop and maintain technical and operational documentation, including SOPs, workflows, knowledge-base content, deployment checklists, architectural diagrams, system security plans, and administrative procedures.
• Manage enterprise software lifecycle activities, including applicable license renewals, patching, upgrades, and version administration.
• Collaborate across technical and business teams to identify requirements, resolve complex issues, and deliver effective enterprise solutions.

Hourly pay rates listed for this position serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation. Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications, and geographic location. Hourly pay rates reflect the pre-benefit gross wage amounts.
