Software Engineer (SWE) Skill Level 1
Wyetech is seeking a Software Engineer Level 1 (SWE1) to join a collaborative software development team using Java as the primary programming language. The development effort uses Agile methodologies to assign, track, and manage software activities and requirements across the team.
This position provides an opportunity to expand Java development expertise while working with technologies such as Quarkus and PrimeFaces and supporting database development, complex queries, and mission-focused software solutions.
Required Skills/Experience:
• Seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE) supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems based on documented requirements.
• Experience designing or implementing complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints.
• Experience performing quality control on software-development team products.
• Experience implementing recommendations to improve documentation and software-development process standards.
• Experience collaborating with customers and team members to derive software requirements and obtain information regarding project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
• Experience coordinating software system installation and monitoring equipment functions to ensure operational specifications are met.
• Experience working within an Agile software-development environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a software-development team.
Key Responsibilities & LCAT Capabilities:
• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems.
• Develop software solutions supporting processing-intensive analytics, complex algorithms, large datasets, real-time systems, and other mission requirements.
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software problem reports.
• Apply software-development and software-design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
• Provide input into software components of system design, including hardware/software tradeoffs, software reuse, COTS/GOTS solutions, and requirements analysis.
• Write and review software and system documentation.
• Serve as a team lead at the level appropriate to the software-development process being used on the project.
• Design and implement complex database and data repository interfaces and queries.
• Develop and implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.
• Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
• Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards and collaborating with users and Systems Engineers.
• Analyze system flows, data usage, work processes, and problem areas to identify and implement appropriate software solutions.
• Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, and improve system performance.
• Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure the outcomes and consequences of system designs.
• Coordinate software system installation and monitor system functions to ensure operational requirements are met.

Education & Experience:
• Seven (7) years of Software Engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four (4) years of additional Software Engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.
Clearance Requirements:
• TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph is required.
Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required.

Salary Range: $86.20 to $136.27 per hour
Hourly pay rates listed for this position serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation. Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications, and geographic location. Hourly pay rates reflect the pre-benefit gross wage amounts.
